3D Display Technology: A New Dimension for Sensory Regulation and Creative Expression
At The Mindshift Hub, we believe in the power of "practical, grounded, and human" tools to help us navigate life’s challenges. While we often focus on movement, textiles, and DBT-based skills, it’s also important to look at how modern innovation can support those of us who experience the world differently. One area of technology that is opening new doors for neurodivergent individuals is the evolution of the 3D Display.
A More Natural Way to Process Information For many in our community who live with ADHD, Autism, or sensory processing differences, traditional 2D screens can sometimes feel overstimulating or "flat," making it harder to maintain focus. A 3D Display can provide a more intuitive and depth-rich visual experience. By mimicking the way we see the real world, these displays can reduce cognitive load, allowing for a calmer and more engaged interaction with digital content—whether for learning "Finding & Keeping a Job" (FAKAJ) skills or exploring creative hobbies.
Enhancing Creative Workshops and "Flow" We know that "Broken Crayons Still Colour" and that creativity is a vital path to healing. Imagine taking our creative textile or box-making workshops into a digital space where a 3D Display allows you to see your handiwork from every angle before you even pick up a tool. This kind of "digital tactile" experience can build confidence and reduce the anxiety that sometimes comes with starting a new, hands-on project.
Connection and Community in a 3D World As we walk alongside each other on our journeys of healing, technology should serve to bring us closer, not isolate us. By utilizing a 3D Display for remote group learning or sound and vibration workshops, we can create a more "present" feeling for those who can’t always make it to our physical space in Mandurah. It’s about building balance, one dimension at a time.
Whether it’s through a casual Wednesday Walk or a new piece of supportive technology, our goal remains the same: ensuring you feel seen, supported, and surrounded by care.
