MASTER PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT & DISCLAIMER

By attending any class, workshop, session or event at The Mindshift Hub, you agree to the following:

 

1. Non-Clinical, Lived Experience Service

The Mindshift Hub is a community, creative and peer-led space grounded in lived experience.

We do not provide therapy, counselling, crisis support or medical treatment.

Nothing provided is a substitute for professional or clinical care.

 

2. Personal Responsibility

You are responsible for your own wellbeing, choices and boundaries.

You may pause, modify or stop any activity at any time.

You agree to communicate your needs and limits as you are able.

 

3. Physical Activity & Movement

Some classes (for example, Healing Rhythms, expressive movement, stretch sessions) may include gentle to moderate physical movement such as stretching, bending, swinging, shifting weight, stepping, twisting or light jumping.

You agree to only participate in movements that feel safe for your body, and to stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, distress or discomfort.

 

4. Materials, Tools & Environment

Some workshops (for example, Kintsugi, art, craft, plant and candle classes) may involve:

 

  • sharp tools or breakable items

  • hot glue, paints, dyes or scents

  • soil, plants or water

 

 

You agree to handle all materials with care, follow facilitator instructions and notify staff of any spills, damage or safety concerns.

 

5. Assumption of Risk

You understand that participation at The Mindshift Hub may involve some level of risk, including but not limited to:

 

  • muscle strain or physical discomfort

  • slips, trips or loss of balance

  • emotional triggers or distress

  • aggravation of pre-existing injuries or conditions

 

 

By choosing to attend, you accept these risks and participate voluntarily.

 

6. Behaviour, Safety and Respect

You agree to:

 

  • treat all participants and staff with respect

  • keep other people’s stories private

  • use language and behaviour that is non-abusive and non-threatening

  • respect personal space and boundaries

  • follow reasonable directions from facilitators for safety

 

 

The Mindshift Hub may ask any person to leave, or may refuse future bookings, if behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or harmful to others.

 

7. Property and Private Home Setting

The Mindshift Hub operates from a private home environment.

You enter the property, outdoor areas and parking surroundings at your own risk.

The Mindshift Hub is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings or vehicles.

 

8. NDIS & Service Type

Where NDIS funding is used, services delivered at The Mindshift Hub are community, capacity-building and social participation supports, not therapy.

All responsibility for NDIS plan use, funding approvals and support coordination remains with the participant, their formal supports and plan manager.

 

9. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless The Mindshift Hub, its owners, facilitators, volunteers, contractors and representatives from any claim, injury, loss or damage arising from your participation, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

 

10. If You Are in Crisis

The Mindshift Hub is not a crisis, emergency or acute mental health service.

If you are in immediate danger or crisis, please contact 000, present to your nearest emergency department, or contact your mental health / crisis support service.

 

By booking or attending, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to this Participation Agreement & Disclaimer.
